Asbestos surveys and reinspections are crucial to comply with the Duty to Manage in the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. G&L is UKAS accredited to carry out these surveys and reinspections in accordance with HSE guidance (Asbestos: The survey guide – HSG264). Our professional surveyors are experienced in surveying various types of properties, from domestic to commercial and large industrial sites. All surveyors always follow strict health and safety procedures.
There are four types of asbestos surveys; Asbestos Management Survey, Refurbishment Survey Demolition Survey, and Asbestos Reinspections.
The standard survey required to locate and assess the condition of all asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) within a building, which may be disturbed during normal occupation. Samples are taken of any suspect materials during the survey.
Required prior to either the refurbishment of an entire building, or a small part of a building to locate any ACMs that may be disturbed during the refurbishment works. This survey involves destructive techniques to access all required areas.
Required before the demolition of a building. This is a full access survey to locate all ACMs using fully destructive techniques to access all areas within the fabric of the building prior to its demolition.
A regular check on all previously identified ACMs materials to confirm their current condition and update the asbestos register accordingly. ACMs in good condition can be managed rather than removed, provided they are inspected regularly to monitor their condition.
