In accordance with the University’s Asbestos Management Plan, regular asbestos awareness training is provided to staff in a wide range of roles across the University. This is tailored to specific roles and responsibilities and includes an overview of the following subjects; history, health effects, legislation, identification, emergency procedures, risks, and management.
In May 2024, G&L Consultancy Ltd. conducted nine sessions for a large cohort of staff across the University as part of the University’s asbestos awareness training. Alan Lewis (G&L) provided bespoke training material for each of the groups with relevant information based on staff roles and responsibilities.
Alan’s approach was engaging and collaborative, providing anecdotal examples of best practice & project examples throughout sessions. Alan was able to provide clear and practical guidance whilst using open discussion to develop knowledge of the subject. Alan clearly guided staff through the University’s asbestos management processes and use of associated software.
Subsequent staff feedback received noted training to be both informative and engaging throughout.
